The 930 model - more appropriate: RS or RSR?
Is a track 930 more RS?
Is it too 'presumptuous' to rank it as an RSR? 930 RS 930 RSR Plate ideas..... |
Bolt on some fender extensions and change the front valence and voila...934, which would be more accurate than the RS or RSR nomenclature.
Cleve:D |
I kinda figured this looks RSR-ish with 275/315 tires:

To me, RSR means those silly looking rear wing extensions. Just stick with RS I think.
RS is really for the NA cars though, not turbo. |
If you want to go with the RS/RSR nomenclature, then I think someone's gotta start off with an RS model. Then, when that RS model gets topped by another 930 with even more go-fast mods/development, the RSR moniker can be used. Actually, backtracking a bit, someone's gotta ante-up with a 930R, first. Then 930RS, followed by 930RSR, followed by as many R's as you can add on via stickers. Works for Japanese pocket rockets and motorcycles, at least.

Cute. Yet RS and RSR actually mean something when it comes to Porsches,
at least since about the late 1960s. |
The correct name for the 934 was Turbo RSR.

Let's see, your car's lightened, upgraded everywhere, kinda like an RS treatment to the standard car. It's also got a roll cage, race seats, and no muffler, which is part of an "R" upgrade to a regular "RS". Plus, it's a turbo, so, +1 to Rowan's post. Call it a turbo RSR.
Whatever you do, I got dibbs on "930 CS" :) My car's lighter (no sound pads, light seats, RS carpet, roll bar), more responsive (suspension mods), but pretty much stock in the powerplant (soon to have headers). Hence, the CS (club sport) moniker. Like the 1988 Carrera CS... -Garen (87 930 CS) |
hmm.....I like that train of thought, Garen. :p

hi craig
I call my car a 930rs as well It should be sub 2400 lbs. and make some power I am also running the 275/315 setup To bump up to rsr I would think bumping flares from 9/11 to 11/13 or 11/14 would be good john |
Does 2650 and 438/413 RWHP/TQ put me in the club?
|
hmmm
i do not think rs or rsr suits your car. and it is not at all the case that you car isn't good enough for the name (it is), however because it is forced induction it is a different spirit. you gotta leave rs/rsr for us n/a guys...you already get the hp claims. something more like BB 930, BigBoost 930. 3.4(?)ST (super-turbo) or like others have said, 934, or turbo rsr. |
Turns out '930 RSR' is an "invalid plate pattern", yeesh.
