That is how we mount them as well. FWIW Depending on the system you are using you may find that a round trigger is not going to work. The sensors I use and the system I use wants a square contoured block.

Don't make the mistake that many have made and use a allen head screw. The hole in the center will be picked up as a second signal causing a sync error.

Merv, we will see who makes more power ;)

An EFI CAM sync sensor won't make you that much more power, unless you intend to run a great big laggy snail ;)

While and EFI cam sync sensor wont make you power itself, its needed to run a full on standalone. Stock ECU Motronics are a solid proven system, however its ancient technology. With a standalone you get better response, drivability, smother power/torque curve, and more overall control over everything.

You wont need to run a big laggy snail to make good power.

Yermancars, Why dont you look at the accel dual sync distributer? Its got 2 hall sensors inside for cam and crank angle. Other wise try the clewit racing set up, its a very nice piece however im not sure if it could be used with stock scavange pump.

yes, the Clewett cam sensor uses the right (passenger) side of the motor. You can not use the factory engine mounted oil cooler, as it interfers with the mounting and operation of the sensor. It is a very good piece of work and is not too expensive. BUT, you would have to go with the 964 style of oil filter console instead of the oil cooler, which would drive up the price substanically.....

Jimmy K has a clewett cam sensor on the driver side. However Jimmys car is a 3.6 motor, not a 3.3. I have the Accel dual sync distributer it seems to be pretty accurate. I just like it because it eliminates the hassels of buying crank pullys, 2 sensors, and mounting hardware.
