As I recall from previous contact I had with Michael on the phone....that gauge was a new product they designed to try to consolidate various gauge functions into one unit. I never bought one because I would only consider replacing the clock with an aftermarket boost gauge that matched the Porsche gauges. The chrono gauge you mentioned was a brand new design Michael came up with and had high expectations for it....and I didn't like the Xmas tree sort of display of the various functions...AFR, boost, etc. It was a bit too blingey for my taste....and a bit too expensive as well.

Angry Warning

On December 18, 2007, I attempted to purchase an Intercooler from Michael Choy at Blown Six Design. Michael assured me that it would arrive in 3 weeks.

Over the next 10 weeks, I called and emailed Michael several times but he rarely responded. When he did respond, it was to tell me that my intercooler had shipped (when it had not) or to give me a UPS tracking number that was invalid.

On February 27, 2008, I received a used intercooler from Michael that is broken beyond repair.

I do not recommend giving Michael Choy, owner of Blown Six Design your credit card information. If you do, please check your statements for charges from Days Inn Barrie, Canada or Liberty Travel.

If Michael Choy has stolen from you or put fraudulent charges on your credit card please PM me.

Attached are pictures of the intercooler that I received from Blown Six Design.

...again, for every "success" story with this company, there seems to be a disaster

Craig sums it up, for me:

I see a dramatic lack of consistency for an otherwise good product.

While I experienced a delay in getting my full-bay Carrera intake I/C, mine arrived unscathed. The workmanship is excellent, and I didn't have the communication issues that some others had.

The packaging on this IC was perfect. It was not damaged in transit. I sent Micheal the pictures. He emailed me and asked me to call him but both of the Blown 6 telephone numbers have been disconnected.

Guys, I have been watching this thread with some trepidation, as I ordered a half bay IC from Blownsix two weeks ago.
It just showed up, wrapped to survive even USPS handling.
Workmanship is beautiful.
I ordered this through Jeff Alton at Pac West, and he's been great to deal with as well.

Their phones have been disconnected but service was restored yesterday afternoon. I spoke to Michael. He claimed no knowledge of how an IC in this condition was delivered. He promised that I would have another IC within 2 weeks.

After all of the lies, I still want to believe him. It's frustrating to miss events due to false promises. All I want is what I paid for last year.

Hey guys....I know that I've sort of been a voice of support all along.... however small a voice....but Michael will not burn you. Yes, there have been some frustrations, but if you recall, he said he was moving and the phones would be reconnected in March....well, he's a bit early. Although his deliveries are not always the most expeditiously handled, you will get your intercooler. Most of the previous references on this forum have dealt with frustrations, not rip-offs. Give him a break....he's always come thru for me even though I had some issues with fitment...but he made good and sent me a new intercooler.

Chuck

The rest of the story . . .

After three months, lots of phone calls, lots emails, 3 UPS tracking numbers and one bad intercooler, a good intercooler arrived. Because of the trouble, Michael sent an IC that was better that what I had ordered. He also supplied some of the plumbing at no charge.

If you can get his product with no hassle, it is an excellent value. If he did a better job at setting and managing customer expectations, he’d have a great company. I won’t want to relive this experience, but I wish him the best and hope that he can refine his delivery process.

That's good to hear that he corrects his mistakes at least. Every business owner makes mistakes, it's how you handle correcting the mistake. Hopefully this is a step in the right direction.
