Question BMC air filter

Where can this exact model be purchased - just the air filter - here in the USA?

I think Fabspeed carries them.

As an aside, I have a billet "Eagle Day" mass flow filter - great shape, sans small filters, I would sell for $125.00. Pics can be seen on Eagle Day website. I am going with a snorkel set up through the quarter windows.

I do not have a pic of the actual item as I am at work. But you have my word that it is as described. If you want it let me know and I can get it out tomorrow.

Right, but what about just the filter?

I don't need the $245 setup -

Can I ask why you are changing from the stock air filter?

Is there a proven/documented increase in horsepower with switching to the BMC tyoe filter? Did you find some such info somewhere, or did anyone ever run a dyno test that was independent of the suppliers claims?

Or is it simply a weight or cleaning up the engine bay making service easier the issue.

Just wanted to know if all these air filters really make any difference in power output before sending the suppliers my money.

The air meter plate is likely the most restrictive part of the intake pathway. I would not expect anything more out of any aftermarket filter/housing than a cleaner engine bay. That alone is worth doing.

I don't have the stock air filter:

and I like what I have - checking out the other stuff for the heck of it. I just need a new K&N element -

Do you track your car or do DE events? If so, I was wondering if you experience any issues with oil consumption or smoking on startup at track days?
---Did you try looking at K&N website directly for replacement filters or try Ramchargers, they carry K&N stuff.

Finding a new element is pretty easy, just investigating the BMC concept for price and functionality.
I think my current setup allows for more cool air to the inlet than the BMC, FWTW.
