Yes there are faster cars from the East....
I expect mine to not sound like a piece of cardboard when I shut the door.
The Supra and the new Mitsubishi's are amazing power houses, but not the precisely made, work of art that the old school Porsches are.

Don't get me wrong. I love my Porsches and am not the least bit interested in any of those other hot rods. The other stuff doesn't have what I want. I know that my stock 930s or 965s can be driven hard without blowing trannies or motors, and even if I added a hundred or so cheap horsepower everything is still going to hold it and last a long time. For 2 wheel drive nothing will hook up like 911s and they give me all the grins I need. I never get tired of looking at them. I'm glad that other people like other stuff because variety makes things interesting and the tranny rebuilders in business. (The same durability goes for 928s and 951s which I drive for a little variety.)

Ricer = flexible chassis= can't handle HP= CRUNCH at the first hi-speed bend
German = stiff chassis= can have big HP= Corner like, HOLY SNAPPING DUCKS$$T

My car handles like it is on rails in every corner no matter how much I push it. I can't ask for a better handling car, personally, than my 31 year old 930 with torsion bars.

Just slow down a little in corner entry and floor it through the turn when you have a line established.

The 930 has a true sports car feel, which muscle cars don't, and I kind of doubt a Supra does either. It feels really light on its feet yet also really planted to the road, very nimble without any nervousness.

Usually the theme is that they don't fear death or some cartoon character peeing on the bumper or something.

I think Stang owners have it worst because they know their car is inferior to even the real American muscle cars, let alone a foreign precision engineered automobile.

Anyway, I ran into a fully blown Mustang with a Roush engine, and it was a quick car, the tires would lite up instantly. We did some roll ons but nothing crazy. Then we came to a stoplight.....

So I let out the clutch just as easy and normal as I ever do, which is the only way to get any longevity out of your clutch. He probably dumped the clutch and got a great launch off the line. I revved up first gear, and my front bumper was maybe at his door. I put it in second and winded up the gear, and instantly my car jumped in front so that his front bumper was maybe at my door. In third gear, I pulled away as though his drivetrain gave out or something.

At the next stop light we looked at each other and he just laughed. I guess he will need one more trip to Roush Racing to straighten things out.
What kind of car were you driving? Do you mean you walked a "fully blown Mustang with a roush engine"? The seven second kind?

When I'm driving my stock 1988 930 I'm very selective about which cars want to play, on the other hand, when I'm driving my FORD gt, I'm not very selective at all.

Back in the late 80's to mid 90's it was always 5.0 Mustangs . And some of those cars are pretty fast but my 83 Turbo had a very nice motor and I would just destroy them and when I would back off and they would drive by I would just put my hand over my mouth and act like I am yawning... I never get challenged in my Porsche's now.. but my 1969 Camaro...Mustangs yet again.. when they see that Z/28 emblem and think there is a little DZ 302 under the hood .... unfortunately for them there is a pro built 427 small block with a TKO 600 5speed behind it .. same results

Here where I am in Australia, I get quite alot of high performance Holden and Ford V8's wanting to mess with me, once I finish off my mods, she will have quite abit of extra sting in her tail and I can only see highly modded stuff being able to get a look in. A 930 being only 1300kg will just about always have a weight advantage, these V8's with a Tele tubbie driver are 2000kg (4400lbs to you folks in the US & A)

I even get the odd car trying me out on my '05 Honda Fireblade.
Once I've comprehensively blown them away, I feel like pulling them over and saying 'Hey chief, when your car can do a 3 sec 0-60mph or a 10 sec 1/4 mile, THEN we could have a wee run'!

I just hate it when I think I'm dealing with a 302, but it's really a stroked to hell and back 427 !

I even have it dressed like a DZ 302.. then people notice the almost 2 inch spacer under the stock valve cover and ooops ! it's a roller motor..then they look closer and see the Bowtie emblem embossing on the block and they know right then and there it ain't no 302 !
Same thing with the 930.. they see the crank fire and big intercooler ... but there is no way they can tell it is a 3.5 and not stock 3.3 Mahle Ps and Cs

Nice

I had a 67 Chevelle and dropped a LS6 spec 454 in it. I ran 396 badges on the car. You would never know by looking, but the trained ear can hear those extra cubic inches!

GTO LS2 6.0......very very close race from 2nd to the end of 4th. He edged me out by a little bit, but in my defense, my cars having some wierd flat spot at 5500+rpm. I think its an ignition problem. But no excuses I still think he would have won by a hair. Kept up with me in on the offramp too, pretty impressive.

WHen I had my 951, I pulled up next to a fat tired lumpy cammed 70 nova, at a red light, and although he got me out of the hole by a little bit, by the time I shifted into third , it was all over. That was sweet. I miss that car, but the 930 should be alive in the next year or so.

2.7 911 vs. local Vettes

I live in Oregon....LOTS of Corvettes in my area. I have a '77 2.7 911 that is mostly stock. Lightened all around so she flies very well for an older 2.7. Older Vettes are easy prey for me. They dont even try anymore. ESPECIALLY on a curvy road...it's just no contest. I love it...this 6 cyl running away from them.

Hit boost with the first two and they backed off real fast. I ignored the Boxster on Kal Hwy as I was in the 996. He made a left turn and I was right behind him when he decided to floor it. I floor it and come up real fast and then he figures he'll be eaten alive and he backs down.

The GTR had a title and so I always had it registered. everyonce in a while I would raise the ride hieght a bit and put the rains on and go for a drive ... ironically no mustangs or anything else ever would challenge me.. I couldn't figure out why .. the plate says
