Lightbulb ok, let's list all the differences between the ROW cars and the US cars...

Here is what I gathered so far concerning Euro cars ...

Smaller bumper pads
Bumper crush tubes instead of shocks
No lettering on gauges, and KPH vs MPH
Side marker lights
No Catalytic converters
Probably a different fuel metering system (richer)
No braces in the doors
Different headlights
No third tail light ( 86 and newer )

.... that's all I can think of ... what am I missing ?

I think there are differences in the charcoal canister/fuel vapor recovery system.

The CIS fuel head has a higher flow on euro cars.

Ok, don't hold me to these numbers cause I'm sure they vary with tire and wheel sizes, year make and model, and so on.

Generally:
US Spec:
Front = 26.25 in
Rear = 25.75 in

Euro Spec:
Front = 25.5 in
Rear = 25 in

If you do a search on ride height or something similar in the 911 tech forum you'll get TONS of reading on this.

There are general differences and then there are year-specific differences. It gets quite confusing and lengthy, especially when you include federilized cars. Then there is 49 state US vs California ..........

For instance, the US and Euro CIS fuel head and injectors are the same on all 930s 1978 to 1985 but different for 1986 to 1989.

My '79 US-spec 930 has a federal sticker stating it's catalytic converter exempt. I believe '78's were the same. So, not all US cars had cats.

Also, the exhaust was totally different between US & RoW - at least for the '78 & '79. I think (maybe) the later cars were the same.

UK ZZZ cars came with bumper shocks & MPH speedo's.

The fuel heads are black on the euro, silver on the USA cars.

You're kidding? MPH speedometers? How could that be? I thought all ROW cars had the KPH speedometers and had to be converted if brought into the USA

According to Porsche 911 Red Book 1965-2005 ...

ROW engines had 300hp and 304tq.
US engines had 265hp and 291tq.

Thermal reactors and ERG emissions were the main differences.

in 1982 they increased the torque to 321.
