She's here!

After waiting patiently for a few months, I finally picked up my new toy! I hated the chrome 18s on the car so I took them off and put on a set of 7s & 9s my friend had sitting in his shop. Brought the car home and polished the Fuchs, stuck on a set of caps I had and dressed the tires.

Beautiful Car!
Those 18's would look killer finished in gloss black. Paint 'em up and use them at the track.

I put the chrome 18s on my 996 and took off the black rims.

Chromes are 18x8x11 w/295s in the rear. The black ones are 18x8x10 w/ 265s in the rear.

The 996 is way more agile. I haven't really pushed the turbo to see how the speed is. I have felt the turbo kick in and it was great!

Unfortunately, I feel bad about the purchase because the car is so clean. There is no way that I can keep it in this condition. It sits covered in my garage and one of my cats was sleeping on her last night.

Jaysus H. Christ! Took her for a short run on the way home tonight and the boost hits you like a ton of bricks! I made the right choice getting this car over a 993 cab.

You down over in the Ala Mo area? My 930 is coming back in a couple of weeks. There is a 79' over here, Red & Pristine, 20k original miles. When you come over give me a shout & we can go talk to Don.

If you are traveling at the speed of light & turn on your headlights, does anything happen?

My 930 will be in transit to Kauai. Mom & Grandma left to go play Overseas. We usually stay with Grandma when we come over. Thanks for the offer though, maybe when the Superferry comes it will be more of a workable thing bringing the Car back & forth.
Yes he actually bought it from Bmw Honolulu, a collector had traded it & somebody had screwed something up to where the Car was smoking, he bought it fixed it, very minor problem, & there it sits in his brother inlaws garage, I see him take it to work on occasion, total of 1/4 of a mile to his work & back.

Howzit Akila,

The superferry should be up and running this month and I can not wait. We will be able jump from island to island. The big island has some very nice roads that I have always wanted to drive my car on. From the beach to the volcano and back...can't wait to take my car for that ride.

Shaka - Is your avatar pic taken at Scott Schulte's?

As for the Superferry, don't forget the fine print where there is a 30.8% fuel surcharge! RT on the Superferry w/ 1 car is $200 + 30.8% = $260. Damn!

Nope, not Scott's but from the inside of my garage.

Wow $260? I heard it was supposedly under $100 but wouldn't doubt it with the prices nowadays. I guess those island hops will be a lot less frequent than I thought. Oh well, still gotta do it but should probably wait till they iron out all the kinks.
