cv joints

well i was thinking of going to a drag strip this weekend.so i went out to some back road to practice my launches.well on the first launch it started making a big knocking noise.i thought(and hoped)it was a cv joint and it was.the cage that holds the bearings broke apart.and maybe other parts in the cv broke to.have to look at it better tomorrow.anyone else have problems with cv joints.should i stick with oem cv's

I'd stick with stock unless you plan this drag racing as a regular thing, then you need to talk to Juan Ruiz.

I just changed mine and it looked they've been changed before and the car only has 59K miles. I thought about rebuilding them, but I disassembled one and there was noticable wear on the race.
