Porsche Crest Lookin Into A Spare K26!

All,

I am looking into the purchase of a spare K26.
I am working with a 79 930 US model.
What do these cost?
Anyone have a good one in the garage?

Thanks,

Paul

Are you refering to the "stock" turbo? If so, I think it's actually a 3LDZ. I think the K26 was used on one of front engine models (944?).

I have a 3LDZ for sale. $200 + shipping. This is from a low mileage 79 930.

Garage
A functioning 3LDZ found in the wild after all these years would be as rare as a coelacanth siting.

Paul - check the ID plate on the side of the turbo and verify that is what you are looking for.

What's interesting about that ID plate is the "Garrett P/N" window on the tag. It looks empty - as I would expect with KKK embosed on the casting - just interesting that's all. My 3LDZ came off of a newer model 930 so maybe this is how early tags were/are?

Edit: or maybe this thing has been rebuilt or serviced in its lifetime (a good thing if that's the case)...and it's some sort of dealer/service tag (non-factory)?
