1979 Porche 911 issues

Hello fellow Porsche Enthusiast. I am hoping someone can shed some light on the problem I am having with a 1979 911 turbo I am working on. The engine is sluggish and stumbles up to 3000 RPM then she takes off like a rocket. I have checked all the vac lines for cracks and replaced suspect lines, I also have checked the waste gate for problems. the gas tank, fuel lines and fuel pump have been replaced and I am still experiencing the same problem. A little more information on the problem: The stumble occurs at full throttle, it feels like you are hitting the rev limiter, if I back off the throttle a touch she makes it up to 3000 rpm then its bombs away. Also at higher RPM when I let off the throttle she backfires a bit. I am running out of things to check.

Has anyone had a similar problem and what was the solution.

Any insight into the solution would be greatly appreciated.

If I understand correctly, under full throttle the engine does not run properly until it hits boost. At that point it runs as it should.
Have you checked your warm fuel presure? Do you have any A/F ratio data?

All 930s backfire continuously when you let off the throttle at high rpms, if you still have CIS. The more open your exhaust is, the more you can hear it distinctly.

Just make sure you are running a rich enough AFR so that you are not in risk of detonation.
