Yup. The drop-in HID bulbs are illegal in all states as far as I know.

Also, Dan Stern says that the HID's without the correct projector produce less light down the road, but more up close - providing a misleading impression that your lighting is "better".

Our host carries the replacement H4 lens. As for the HIDs, my kits should arrive sometime next week. I got them from a friend and they are the slim ballast H4s with a lifetime warranty on all parts. Pretty good deal for $120. I ordered the 6k color temp.

BMAN - Does your kit have the solenoid operated shade for the high beams?

HIDs came in yesterday and I installed them late last night. It is much brighter and I need to aim the lights.

Looks good. I wanted to do this last year but decided to wait since I just didn't think the bi-xenon (hi/lo) bulb with their longer deeper dimention would fit in the bucket. Do they? Does anyone know?

Hi,
Don't take offense here, but that kinda looks a little sloppy. Could you post another pick after it's adjusted? Also drive down the road and have someone approach head on and get some feedback about the glare. That pattern looks poorly controlled. It looks to me that once they are brought up where you want them at, that they will blind all oncoming traffic. You can't flash anyone because they are lowbeam. If you flashed a Halogen highbeam, the oncoming traffic would think it was lowbeam. Just looks like a problem to me.

Les

They are pretty sloppy and I'm hoping I can clear it up a bit after aiming. That is why I'm holding off on adding the HIDs to the 930.

I've been too busy, but I doubt it'll make a substantial difference.
