Hey thanks a lot guys for the insight. the thought of trying to get retard out of this dizzy on boost was giving me heartburn, now it makes perfect sense. So in theory (not going to do it) one could remove and cap both vacuum lines to the dizzy and the car would not hurt itself, assuming the dizzy advance plate was not stuck full advance. In my 87 I guess the only thing it really does in a warm car is retard ignition timing at idle for emissions, since the thermo-switch is not allowing vacuum to the advance side once the engine is warmed up.
