Sourcing a 930

I'm in the market for my first 930 and have narrowed it down to the 1989 model. As I'm new to this, could you please check my assumptions?

1989 is the final, most advanced, and most refined version of the 80's body style. It is also the only 930 of that body style with a 5spd. From what I've read in the Red Book, there were only 867 coupes produced. Of that number, only half will probably fall into the color combo that I want. Of those 400, only a small percentage will be for sale and even a smaller percentage will be in good condition.

Do these assumption seem reasonable?

Yep, good luck! I settled for a '81 with a G50/01 in it for less money.

Don't let the spec let you settle for a poor car.

I figured it would be very difficult to locate the car I really want. I've got nothing but time so I'm not too worried about making a bad choice. I'm in Los Angeles; there should be "plenty" of candidates out there over the next year.

Is the G50 that much better than the 4spd? I could always extend my search to include 87-89 and then I'd have many more cars to choose from. Right now I'm only looking at 89' models.

Anybody have an 89' 930 in great condition in blue or silver?

I can only compare the G50 to the 915 which is very similair to the 930 box. I think they are awesome compared to the earlier boxes.
