Who Runs With 02 Unplugged?

I'm asking this question because I get different answers. I have a 86 930 with headers, GHL exhaust, no cat and Fabspeed intake. I set my CO at 3% with it plugged in.

I know your suppose to set the CO with it unplugged but when I tried it ran very rough. Should I unplug it and try to set it up at 3% to see if it will settle down?

Yes.l recommend following the factory procedure.Unplugging it won`t richen the mixture where you may need it most,at WOT.The fact that the engine shows signs of lugging when you unplug it indicates that it`s working. The o2 was adapted to the CIS mostly for emissions but the fact that you don`t want the motor running pig-rich at idle is good enough reason to hook it up anyways. You can adjust the fuel distributor richer and your idle will stay in spec regardless, within limits. Personally l run FI and recommend you switch to that

I have an '87 930 and DO NOT run with the O2 sensor. I also have headers/muffler and K27 turbo.

It runs very poorly with the O2 sensor connected.. so I left it unpluged.

By next week I too should I have the K27S and bigger intercooler. I'm just trying to see which way will be better to tune the CO with it plugged in or unplugged.

I have stock headers and 3LDZ turbo with no CAT and a GHL muffler. I run without my O2 sensor connected. I set the CO to 3% and it runs great!
