Wastgate hose help

Is this the proper connection to the wastegate? The PO had the hose coming from the intercooler. Thanks.

Origonal or not, that will work. The Kokeln intercooler pulls boost reference from the the back end tank.

Isn't that the connection (coming off that location on the intake manifold) for the vacuum assist brake booster? Not sure about what mods you've got. My wastegate line attaches to the intercooler.

That would be correct. you want the top wastegate port to atmosphere. and the side port to the intercooler

That is for the brake booster, wow. I havent looked at the pancake in so long that I forgot. My 3.2 plenum spoils me.
still works for the wastegate even if the brake pedal is a little hard

That hose is for the brake booster line. Not only that, the i.d. of the brake booster line is too large to fit the WG fitting. It more than likely is leaking air around the WG line.

Guys, that will not work properly at all.

The wastegate will not open when he closes the throttle

why not just run 1/4" vaccum hose to the port on the intercooler?

Nathan I think your thinking of the re-circ valve- the wastegate dont need to open on closed throttle. Bull-hit aside that port would give him great wastegate actuation, just not good brake actuation. I just plain dont remember where the reference port for the waste gate is on those origonal manifolds/systems- all I remember is that the Kokeln I/C has a port on the back end tank for the W/G.
Also, what ever the biggest diameter hose that will seal to the wastegate connection and reference port is the size you want. In this case larger diameter is better.

The stock location for the WG control line is on the left hand side of the IC (the inlet side of the IC).

The control line for the recirc valve is connected to the inlet manifold side of the TB.

Generally, the wastegate control line is off an area above the throttle body. When you have the wastegate line below the throttle body, the wastegate will close when the throttle is closed (i.e. between shifts). It will still work, just not as well as above the throttle body.

I think Ide want the WG to close as fast as possible between shifts..
But yes, as long as the re-circ, blow off, or what have you is hooked up after the TB and the gate is hooked to a to an un-restricted boost source above or below the throttle body- our motors will be happy campers.
