transmission and gearing questions

I've been told that there a couple of remedies for the strange gearing of the 930 4-speed. I don't want to spend 10k on installing a g50. Where I live there are great twisties, the gearing plus the high rpm turbo spool makes this car a dog on these roads. My previous car, an 88 carrera was far easier to race. I am doing the necessary engine work, but the gearing, I think must be changed. I would love some input. Thanks.

I love the way my car drives with these ratios:

Few caveats:

I don't have 6 speeds, it's only the spreadsheet that does.

Rolling diameter of my tires is about 4.3% smaller than the calculation.

I now have a rev limiter (and ARP rod bolts) - so I don't rev to 7,000

I've actually got a excel workbook that will let you input alternative ratios and and see what the resulting mph/rpms looks like.

Drop me a note and I'll send it along. I am in the midst of the same decision myself.
