I'm have the one-piece transmission mount on my '86. I also have a later Carrera mount with the replaceable mounts which are the same part number as the engine mounts. As the rubber on the all-in-one mount is getting hard I tried a test-fit of the Carrera mount (which is beefier than the Turbo mount). The holes can be drilled to match, but the rear of the mount bumps the tail of the transmission because of the added width. I can certainly cut this back and weld up a strengthening piece.

I wonder if anyone has done this before or if maybe I'm missing another option. Given the cost of the factory part, (over $1000) I am highly motivated to have another option!

F--- that- patrick motorsport has hard delrin bushings for the stock 930 mount. All you got to do is drill the old rubber out and replace.

P.S do you know any one who needs a 3.2 cross brace with solid aluminum mounts? I did the exact same thing.

It might be my bad luck but I used solid motor and trans mounts on my 3.3 turbo and ripped the bolts from the trans brace. I was told by an old racer to leave the solid motor mounts but to give some flex to the trans mounts by using the rubber ones. If someone has a better way of mounting the trans brace let me know I would like to make sure it won't drop again and cause alot of stress on me and my car.
