how to mod k27 bracket
I am puttng on the k27 and trying to retain stock bracket and use stock euro headers. i have slotted the lower mounting holes as seen on here in other posts, but was wondering if the top one gets redrilled usually?? Anyone else have pictures of modified brackets? :)

Mine was cut and welded back to gether to fit.
don't have a picture of it. |
I am not much of a welder so I used the bracket off a 1989 Turbo SE, part # 930 123 921 05 and everything bolted up fine. The Turbo SE used a K27 so the bracket is different than the standard 3DLZ bracket.

With my slotted bracket, I only run the lower two bolts, I never bother with that upper left hand one...
YMMV |
thanks guys I think I got her figured out now.

It helps to fit the studs to the turbo last when fitting the bracket. Also I had to cut the spacer off that top left hand hole. I did fit the spacer back though of course but it made the bracket easier to fit.

You should post some pics of this bracket when you get it modified correctly. That way others that are about to the mod can see. Me, for example. :) I'm planning on putting on a K27 over the winter.
