Engine ID number

My engine series is a 68H, and supposedly that puts it in the 86/87 era.
If that is the case, (it is in an '82 body), shouldn't it be running on Motronic?

Alan, is your car a 930? If so, all 930s ran CIS until the 993 twin turbo.... now the N/A 3.2L's ran efi from the factory....

The number stamped into the casting holding the fan housing is *68H01352*
What does that give us?
Yes - 930 - so if they all ran CIS, that might explain why a later series motor can run in an earlier series body - assuming this is a later series motor. Would be useful to know.
Thanks
Alan

That settles it then, so the H is the same as in body series numbers. And they all ran CIS.
Thanks
Alan
