That'll buff right out!
Think I'll call home and ask my wife to check on my 930 in the garage after I throw up. That pic actually made me ill!

Wow...that is saaad!! Any details on what exactly happened? For this same reason, I refuse to take my 911 to the track or even my $250 old roachy Datsun Z.
Over confidence as you go faster and faster around the track and before you know it you are in the hands of the Laws of Physics....with outcomes that will make Newton cringe. Yasin

Do you know the owner? is he looking to sell it? I want a track 930. I can see my new fiberglass 934 replica already!

When I take something to the track, I always assume this could happen. It would make for one crappy day though

That thing won't get close to being straight again. It was parked, backed in at big speed to twist the car enough to pop the rear window.

That sucks... I backed mine into a wall at RA a few years ago in the rain/sleet/snow, but nothing that bad.
Absolutely have to assume that something like that can happen each time you take a car to the track. However you HAVEN'T driven a built 930 until you have driven it at speed on a track. God damn are these cars fun. I love terrorizing just about eveything else out these!

who cares if its tweaked? a good body shop can get it back to almost perfect and since it'd be a track car with a cage in it being perfectly straight doesn't matter. I can see a new used rear frame rail/cross member from dc auto. fiberglass quarters/fenders/doors, etc etc. one trip to daytona or lemans and you'll see them beat those new 997's back into shape in just a few hours with some pretty crude methods. back on the alignment rack and get back out there.

I agree with schnell- in my own words "Its F$#%D bro!" That car should be parted out I think. There is probley a good 10-15 grand worth of good stripping off that car- If the buy back is right the guy should strip it and do another one. Or buy that red shell that has been floating around ebay for a while and do it zuffenhaus style.

Wow, that is scary. A guy did the same thing this weekend (hit the wall at PIR going 110). Two weeks ago i almost lost it in the same place. I just placed a big order with Elephant racing to get rid of and mid corner camber changes that a 30 year old bushing will give you.
But there is not like driving a 930 fast on a track. ![]()

There are a few things that a guys should not poke fun at:
1. Going bald 2. Loosing $$ in the stock market 3. Running a boat aground 4. Smashing a car at the track What goes around ... comes around

I'm pretty sure that is at Gateway just outside of St. Louis, MO. The track is actually in IL.
It also looks like MO plates. Too bad about the car, looks like it was a nice one.
