Actually my area of practice was in conjunction with the EEOC righting wrongs of criminal employers. Well as far as the car business goes, my father-in-law started the business 36 years ago and our reputation is without reproach.

LOL

I left school and worked with my Father who is a sole trading plumber, was a small builder.
At 23 I too was a sole trader & had my own washing machine repair business. By the age of 30 appliances actually got cheaper to buy new despite the cost of repairing them increasing... There seemed to be too many other companies in this area offering the same service and it was not a good business anymore.
So, at 29 I worked full time employed at a small, local plumbing & heating company. Moved on from there to work for one of the universities as a maintenance plumber 18 months later. I'm 34 now.

Hey Lincoln, now all you need to do is get into real-estate and you would have done the top three post disliked professions. I have been a sales manager in the car biz, and now I am in real esate. I have always wanted to give Law a shot, and now have more motivation just so I can say I have done all three! It is sad that a few bad apples give us a bad name, but it does make for good conversation when brought up.

P.S. the clutch you sold me works like a champ! I just wish I could of seen your car in its finished product after it was done at speedwerks. Hope you have been able to get that beauty of a car out on the road. Your interior is a work of art!

Wes, I hope your doing better than I did in 2007! I got laid off (1 of 200 laid off) after 17 1/2 years from a large privately owned homebuilder here in the southeast in Nov. I'm now starting a company with my brother to build custom homes (and some comercial stuff). Got to start somehere!

Move to Hawaii as we're still doing well in the RE market.

Not too much new stuff coming round over here. Just jobs that were already started. I think alot of guys are going to be stuck with new Homes & Buildings & no one to buy. Here is some interest.

Not sure which part of the Carolinas your in (I am thinking your down in the greater Charlotte area), but Raleigh is still booming. A lot of new housing development, permits being pulled are still up, and you cant find a new detached home under $500k within the city limits.

A lot of planned commercial developments are going up as well. I plan on dabbling in some of that field next year.

Its a great place to be, real estate wise, right now. Pretty sure we are still the #1 place to sell a home in North America (as per Forbes, a month or so back)
