OK, Got this thing fixed last night. Ended up doing a timesert for this thing. Turned out really nice, and solid. Hopefully it will hold up. Thanks to all that offered advice during my little "emergency"

Good news e170driver!

I would have prefered the Timesert, but didn't have time before I had to leave for the track (and they just aren't available around here). It has held up for several years and engine drops though.

Just read this thread,,well done and although the job is finished!..another method i use is to drill like you had done leaving just the shell of the original broken bolt then if the hole diameter is large enough to get a junior hacksaw blade in there you can cut a hacksaw blade thickness slot down through the thread until it breaks through the outer broken thread,,then you should be able to pick the thread out with a scriber etc because the broken thread shell has somewhere to go because you have split it!!
Just a idea if anybody comes across this again!
