Anyone Ever Built a Stroker Turbo Motor?

Seems like maybe using a 964 crank would yield a motor with better off-boost torque.
Anyone ever tried this?

DonE has... He is using the 964 crank with 98mm P&C's..... seems to run like a bat out of hell!!!

I am running the same 98mm P&C's that Don is running, but I am using my stock 3.3L crank. I sent my crank away to CCR ( Armundo) and had is stroked to 78.8 or 78.4 ( cant remember which one). He stroked it by offset grinding the rod journals, coupled with the 98mm P&C's, it is close to a 3.6L. I used custom Pauter rods.... and Clevett Nascar bearings... JB Racing did this for me...

I have yet to have it running, as I need to make a set of custom headers for the car...and get a few parts...but the motor is together.... see this post for assy....
another 930 rebuild....It is FINALLY coming together!!!

That's just gorgeous!
What do you estimate the output will be?

I got a 3.6 turbo crank in my 3.3 motor (close to 3.4 now) with pauter rods and stock piston/cyls.
I made 500 to the wheels on a hot day and a spinning clutch. I ran 18 psi and about maybe 20 degrees of timing. The car has a some more bottom end grunt and hits boost a little quicker.

The stroked crank and the 8.0:1 compression ratio makes very nice low end torque and great city driving.

Thanks!!! I built it with a goal of 600 crank HP in mind.... but the final number is not the most important thing.. HP and TQ that is usable is more important to me... Hopefully with all of the mods/ parts/ etc that I have done to this motor, I will have gained more usable HP and TQ than I had before.. ( I was at the limit of the CIS system before I spun the rod bearings)...

but yes, the bragging rights would be nice... but not nessasary....

and a shamless plug for DonE... without his help.. I would be no where near where I am today..little lone have learned much more than what I knew before this happened.. THANKS!!!

Both Ollie (OMS930) and I have stroker motors utilizing 3.6 RSA cranks and we are also north of 550rwhp at .9 bar. The engines were both built by Speedwerks of North Carolina.

We (the Detroit based Turbo Pelicans) will have to arrange a get-together in the spring to see your car, if you wouldn't mind.
