Timing and mixture Procedures
Anyone have procedures for setting the timing and the mixture that they can post?
My car is moving again and I want to be sure I don't hurt my new engine! Thanks. |

Sorry forgot the details, 1987 USA 930, stock except for Tial WG. Fresh rebuild, new P&C. Thanks for the help!

You shouldnt need to change the mixture if it was already set before the rebuild. If it is a new fuel head then you will want to do something about it.
You will need to set the static ignition timing before you start her up. Follow the procedure in Waynes rebuilding book. You will want to set you values to (as per factory manual): 5 degrees at ATDC + or - 3 degrees. This means your rotor will be pointing at the notch on the dizzy while the 5 degree mark on the cam pulley is pointed at the notch on the fan housing. Once you get her started up, used a timing light to verify |
I'd finish the timing adj at 4k rpm and 26* IIRC. The dizzy vac lines pulled and plugged.
