Fast idle on hot start up

Hello all,
My '83 930 has a fast idle issue, but only when started when warm. Say I stop to get gas...fill it up..then start it. It will have an idle around 1600-1800rpm, and slowly, very slowly comes back down to 1000rpm, but that takes about 2 1/2- 3 minutes. Any clues out there?
The car also has the occasional annoying hard start issue after the car has sat for over 1/2 an hour. I've changed the accumulator & front pump check valve to no avail. However it can still be the check valve in the fuel head, or a leaky injector.
I do not know if the 2 issues could possibly be connected or not?

Any help is always good help, so thanks to anybody willing to throw me a bone.

Mark

Normal, working as designed, apparently. John Walker says he used to fit an SC part - it's either the AAV or the AAR that does this - to reduce the symptoms, back in the day. I tried looking for the exact post, but the guy has over 9,000 of them...

Had the same. Tought it was normal. But then I found all air leaks. Air leak + cold start enrichment = high RPM.

Look around injector seals and plethora of hoses under the intercooler. After I tightened everything idle was rock-solid 900 RPM hot or cold.

Normal 930 stuff... if it drops after few minutes. +1 check for air leaks but don't sweat it!

Ha, my SC has developed exactly the same problem - so not unique to 930.
My AAV is working fine.
I can only assume an air leak - but on hot start, it should not have the cold start valve dumping fuel anyway.
I suspect something else - just not sure what.
