DAMN!!!!!
I wish this had come up for sale about two months ago. I just had my 4 spd rebuilt by a local shop and was bent over on the cost. It's amazing how short sighted some shops can be when charging a long time customer. After a 7 year relationship, they have seen my cars for the last time.

Really? Gosh. Seems cheap.

And then how much extra work/time/money/downtime to fit a G50 into a pre-G50 car, eh?

You know you're not gonna walk away from a project like that without spending 4x or 5x the original budget on "while we're in there"....

.......MAJOR work and expense to fit a G50 box.
One is in my '82......the receipt totals from 2 p/os ago are huge......

I love the G50, but I do not feel that it is worth the expense.

Freshen up the transmission a bit and add a WEVO shifter and you are 80% of the way there, anyway.

I want it! Its not fair!!!
I bet that gearbox is really nice as I am pretty sure that RUF $hitcanned the truck synchros for better units.

Well as far as I understand, RUF retained 930 innards and only added extra gear?? Thus truck synchros (same design as in 915, but bigger) are still there?

In that case F*** that idea, the only reason I would buy it is to have it copied so all of my fellow Porsche 930 owners could benefit for half the cost.

Assuming you use a good & reasonable shop, you're looking at $10,000 for a complete G50 conversion project using the Patrick Motorsports short bell housing kit.

I use the shop of 930gt-40r, cut and re-weld the nose, tilton clutch pedal, clutch conversion, and a hargett for the hell of it. I could install one for probly about $1,500 and the trans. (G50 from non-turbo). call it 4,500-5,500 completed.

That's a great value ... sure do wish you were my neighbor here in SoCal!

SoCal, hell I wish I lived there too. My baby is in the garage because of grip defying low temperatures- I spun the hell out of my tires at 90 back in the fall and I said "no more for the winter"

I've tried e-mailing the seller through Ebay but they keep blocking my messages, can anyone else try for me and tell him to get in touch with me at jon@kigi.co.uk
I'm in the UK and can go over and collect it, cash buyer etc. Thanks
