Realize that state by state the costs are going to vary.

Just ran an online quote on Hagerty.
Same coverage as below but valuing the car at 40k, they quoted me $711/yr!

Haggerty is collector car (parade) insurance. As such, you cannot:
1) Drive to work,
2) Drive to vacation,
3) Drive to do almost anything but go to a car show or parade,
4) Drive on a track or autocross, or other race-type activity,
5) Buy insurance at any cost if you do not have another 'primary' car which is insured by another carrier as a vehicle that you USE - remember you can't actually use the car insured by Haggerty.

With Haggery, you can agree upon the car value easily, as you pay a premuin based on your assessment of the car's worth, assuming the car is not USED, as it is a parade policy.

I had Haggerty, and cancelled after I read their policy. I now have Geico.

As with any insurance, you may never need to file a claim. But, heaven forbid, you're at fault in an accident driving your Haggerty insured P-car to the Mall (or office), and someone is seriously injured. Here in Georgia, I would lose everything after Haggerty denied my claim.

Perfect for me. I work from home, its basically a track car, and good luck getting any insurance to cover you on a race track.
I've read my policy, and it must be different than yours as it is not that restrictive -

This was collector car insurance too. I have two other cars that are used for primary transportation. Ive had my 930 for 10 years and put 1500 miles on it in that time!

I'll give you 18k for your 930 and let you make a little money on the deal!
Wonder where in the hell that appraiser gets his numbers?
I looked for 18 mo before buying my 930 and it was north of 17k by leaps! Never once saw one under 25k that was decent.

I have collector car insurance on my Mustang, and the rules are pretty much the same as what you guys have listed.

I drive my turbo about 5,000 miles a year, to work, and all over the place, so I don't mind paying more.

WOW, how are you guys getting agreed value at 30 and 40k?
I contacted Grundy and they sent a professional appraiser out. He was dead set on 17k. I was so pissed I paid him his $120 thee and told him to hit the road! I later talked to my mechanic about the problems I was having insuring the car. He said of his customers that owned 930s my car was in the upper echelon. But hes not surprised to hear that insurers were getting squirmy.
Are we getting Fuched by insurance?
Grundy wouldn't insure my car - they didn't consider it a collector or a classic.

Haggerty considered it an 'exotic' and would cover it as such. Again, the good thing about Haggerty is that the OWNER of the car decides the replacement value - you could tell them that your 930 is worth $500k, and I believe they'll do the policy (I didn't test $500k, but I did insure my slant for $75k with no hassels), as the premium is simply based on this replacement cost.

Haggerty did pay a windshield claim on my car after a bit of negotiation between the windshield replacement company and their claims person, so they may work out for some folks. I like to drive my car to work 1-2x a week (12mi each way - almost too short in that it barely gets to operating temp), and I wasn't willing to put my homestead at risk for the potential to collect more $ if it was burned up or stolen. FWIW, my annual Haggerty premium was about the same as the Geico rate I pay now (~$550).

Hagerty has it so I must be parked "stored" in a locked garage at all times when at home.

I think my age is the biggest factor so far on why mine is so high, and the fact that I drive it frequently....
