Stronger Axles & Cv´s
I am looking for stronger rear axles and cv joints for 930 1979 with G50 gearbox – what shall I take? I am looking for high quality axles (this car is 594hp to the rear wheels and 705Nm)
I found this one: (according to Lite75 this one fits :-) ) For 911 Turbo 85 thru 89 Item #: 93033203704GKN Premium bar material is gun drilled, honed, and 26% stronger. Premium finned GKN Motorsports joints with improved cages and cryogenically treated housings are 16% stronger. Do you recommend something else ? |

Call Drive Shaft Shop. I think their solution is about $2,500 but Bullit proof.

Is the axle snapping or bending, what about the cv? I would think the crappy metric bolts that mount to the output flange would shear before anything else. Grade whatever, its still not AN quality. I think Hewland used to make output flanges for VW bus transmissions to accept AN hardware.

I dont think the bolts are a problem, Eddie B. runs more than 1,000 horsepower at the dragstrip with the stock bolts.

Just saying the shear strength of stock/grade? bolts versus AN is night and day and I would bet that they would fail before the actual driveshaft or CV does.
