I installed a fiberglass C2 front end from Better Bodies (bad choice in suppliers, but I bought it through a re-seller).

Anyway, it's a lot of work, but if done correctly, they look as good as stock and perform better. What does that mean? Glad you asked. It means you can add fog lights or vents for oil coolers. I did the latter and fit the bumper to accept the ducting. In addition, I added a splitter which added stability to bumper and the car at high speed. The oil cooler plumbing fits nicely behind the bumper too.

Call me when you get time and I'll explain in more detail. For your info, fitting, shaping, paint prep, paint and installation probably took me every bit of 60 hours.

Time and a poor memory have a way of easing pain. It was a pain but then people define pain differently. It took a lot of time, trial and error to get it close to right. You will need access to a welder, cut-off wheel, scrap metal and a friend.

The best way is to mount the bumper cover and learn how it fits and how the inner bumper fits and start form there. The biggest problem is not being able to see and measure with the bumper cover in place and the inner bumper inserted.

I assume you are referring to the two piece under tray used on the C2. The factory cover is pre drilled for the mounting holes and you again use clips and screws. Consult PET for the part numbers. As for aftermarket fiberglass the undertray pieces can be laid in place and holes marked and drilled. I believe the clips are large enough to fit over the glass and screws used to fasten the tray. The problem is using screws to mount a fiberglass bumper is that the weight will pull the screws out of the clips as the car bounces. Bolts. washers and lock nuts should be used.

I would not advise using the undertray unless your plans are to always drive slow. That tray is aerodynamically desigend to go along with the solid bottom of the C2 to reduce lift. The 930 requires some form of an air dam with the big tail at speed. The front end of a 930 will float at speed without a proper air dam and instant lane change is better than any cardio test you will ever do. Guess how I know? I would recommend an aftermarket C2 based fiberglass spoiler or a lip spoiler. I am not aware of anything from the factory for the C2 turbo but the same problems with aerodynamics would apply for lift. It all depends on how fast and how much cross wind you plan on driving in.

Thanks for the advice. After chatting with my brother (turbobrat930) and DonE above along with reading your emails, I thinks the only thing to do is go with an aftermarket piece.

I will look at MA Shaw and a couple others. Not so sure on Getty Design (even though I heard he was a brother-in-law or something of MA Shaw and also Better Bodies after I heard what happened to a few people on this forum.

If you are not going to incorporate a hard bumper and use and aftermarket piece then why not simply use the factory bumper cover with no hard bumper?

An additional good thing about using the factory piece is if it doesn't fit then you know you have a chassis problem.

If you find an aftermarket bumper that fits without much modification then please report back. If you find one that was pulled from a true factory bumper and will allow the use of the factory inner bumper then by all means report your source.

One last thought on the aftermarket bumpers. You fill have the make a notch at the top of the cover where it fits over the corners of the fender gasket rails. No big problem and you will obviously know where to make the cuts.
