Im Done!!!

Ladies and Gentlemen....
I have had it and I am done.
Just got word back from the machine shop to hear that the engine got washed out and now I need new cylinders, all valves, all guides, rings, bottom end bearings (from debris), and possibly crank machining. I am all set with that $hit...

BUT- you all may be able to profit from my misfortune...
I am more than likely going to part the good things from this motor out (fuel injection, exhaust/turbo sys., plenum/throttle body, Gt-2 cams, carrera tensioner upgrade less the tensioners, twin turbo crank+pauter rods, valve covers, bare heads with 3.2 conversion, accel distributer, and I am sure I am leaving some stuff out, but you get the picture.

So in the event that I am 100% sure that I am going to part out- that is pretty much what I am selling plus some other odds and ends.

Sorry to be a quiter, but attending college does not allow money to drive a 500 horsepower Porsche.

Kris

That is one of the items I want to keep for a rainny day. Plus it barely fits in a stock wing.

Im thinking $hit-can the motor by parting it out and build something up when I get out of college, something like a 3.6 motor and build it for giant boost. For now I get to drive the equivalant of a golf cart- my Civic. But for now I simply cannot afford to drive around a exotic sports car.

Well when I got my roller I was uncertain what I was going to do and ended up picking up a used engine for 8k in Germany.. Shop around that may be the way to go and you get a car to drive for a while. There are ALOT of Pelicans in your area to help you put it in if you don't do the wrenching yourself..

That's a shame.
You could possibly find a stock engine for a similar price as all your parts.
Worth considering.

Is it EFI?

I'm sure it will be back better than ever some day. Awesome looking car.

Dude, have been there. Don't get too disheartened. You got some good memories to keep the flame going until the bank account fattens up. Why not turbo the civic and have some cheap thrills?

Man Kris that is so disheartening - very sorry to hear. However, it is admirable to see you've got your priorities straight. There will always be another motor, car, whatever - but finishing your education gets exponentially more challenging with each year of life that passes.

Bang through that and be done then onward and upward.

Hang in there - it'll go by faster than you'd think just put yer nose to the grindstone.

Good luck. I'm glad I got to at least see / hear it while it was still around. Those anodized valve covers and pebble textured powder coated Carrera manifolds were stunningly beautiful IMO.

I hate to be one of the vultures but is your car CIS? If so do you have any fueling mods?

I need an adjustable WUR and may consider an modified fuel head if you have one.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune.

Been there, it is very discouraging but then to part the car out can't be any less painful.

Man 930gt sorry to hear that, if its any consolation ive been out of college for more than a decade. I am "supposedly" a professional in my career field and i still cant afford it
If your civic is anything like the one ive had for 15 years with 300,000 miles youll have many years of joy with that thing, i think its cost me like 85 dollars in maintenance in all that time, if only our Porsches were the same!!!!

Hi Kris,
Yeah, a Hot Rod'd 930 and College are mutually Exclusive. Can you give me a rundown on the heads? Specs, Valve sizes, springs, etc and how much you want for them?

Les

Oh and Bryan is right, you might sell enough off to buy a good used engine and get back on the road again
