Why not launch it like a high power front wheel drive? Slip the clutch off the line. Clutches are pretty cheap and it softens the blow to the tires and tranny. Plus it keeps the wheel hop monster at bay.

Turobteener- I agree with you- this is how I launch my car. I have figured out that a 4 speed car with big power has to be tapped against the rev limiter a few times in first gear in order to get the m.p.h up going into second gear. Now bouncing a car off of the limiter is not the best thing for it (especially when your tensioners go bad...), but if you have a soft touch rev limiter its not so bad. But letting the clutch take the heat is the best way to handle launching these cars- I have never broken a gearbox from launching it to hard including the 930 powered carrera 4 that I used to have.

The best way to describe it, "pre load" the clutch, that is the most effective way to get her out of the hole, unless your clutch dept and you axle dept are a happy family one or the other will go out very very fast. trust me..
