As an anecdote, when I found 2018 GT3 pics from web, I couldn't be comparing its overall layout to my 12-14 years ago build modified 911 SC (My Strosek 911 P35 RUF BTR)... As if there were people asking back then why I made mine as I did, (for my own purpose for autobahns, Nürburgring and Spa Francorchamps etc...) I would say that this pic of Porsche ag proves that there is others who consider same way: now that they can buy that directly form the shop, not to completely build and overhaul it from ancient car... But I can see a demand factory is now fabricating an answer, and great answer it is:

The outrageously cool and gorgeous street-track product of Porsche Ag of today:
New Porsche GT3, GT4 Cars Spied – Sportscar365
P11 by Porsche AG build for 2018

My soon to be classic aged diy street-track version (modified from 1982 SC) with its 2005-2008 surprisingly different solutions, people kept asking why :D :

P35 by Porsche Ag & Petri original build 2005-2008

Something same there is :D:D:D. I think it is great that Porsche Ag has understood that such cars should be build for audience, back then 2004 they did only GT3 Cup to track and very mild GT3 to street. Therefore I did build mine back then... now I can buy such concept from works to street . Isn't it great!

I photoshopped another pic, now rather of the rear colors... I wonder if I dare to start to mess with white color to cover my tradional green... The rear could be 935 / 911 Carrera RSR Turbo 70ies style black (also rear light lenses darkened) and keeping the bumper still black (it will get dirty in races with full throttle anyway), but make rear bumper sides green... I think I still stick green with this, even if others might be more of martini colors...

I'd stay with green with black since that's your traditional color! I'm sure many others view your car as a green beast. But if you're thinking of color change then that's understandable. Thanks for keeping us up to date!

Thank you for your contribution... This is the reason I think I stick with it, as this car is known for 15 years of this color and apparently it has become a vital part of it integrity... Funny how it goes :D...

I announced green (and me) to Finland National Championships Series "Rata SM" to Gran Tourismo Pro Modified class to compete in slick tyres with latest 991 GT3 Cups and R8 GT3 Audis and all kind of Super Saloon and Time Attack cars etc... Some 4 events and 8 starts... also racing in our national Porsche Sports Cup, but first time in slicks with this car...

Curious to see how we manage, two oldtimers, car and me :D. My wife promised to be on my side in the events, so we might also get some getaway time without kids. I am so looking forward to have some racing action .

I think you should keep black and green as well! Your photoshop looks great, I like it!!!

petri 05-04-2018 08:34 AM

Thx! As being a person for continuous development, this is the place to use slow motion and keep it traditional green | black with some new twists... Frontview for now with darkened front bumper area and dark lenses to lamps... :D. One month for first race...

It looks like you're headed towards the of making it a psychedelic livery using green, black, and white. Sounds good to me!!

petri 05-04-2018 06:34 PM

Color combination works, something batman like there is (which is not that much of an improvement), also rear end I like, so I thought of challenging me with front end. As you said it had some quite psychedelic effects if making full front with black... so its not there yet.
I thought of using satin rubber dip colors for black in front bumper, as it should be protected anyway... it gets stone chip hits quite a lot in races... So I thought that rubber paint would be a sort of protection with visual effect which can be ripped of easily and repainted. It could be also something little bit more conservative like this:

I am having my 50th B Day celeb also as my 11th annual driving event June 8th so I get great practice before racing season starts... Anyone nearby please feel welcome to join ;).

Would love to check out your car in person, unfortunately Finland is a bit far from me, haha! Hope you have a lot of fun though!

Petri, your birthday is coming up soon! I wish I could be there to looks like fun and my car begs to get back on a track (even though I'm a novice in car motorsports)!

Petri's Day 2018 was great, we got some 100 cars in the event. I also got my green running back, again :D. I did some over 100 laps with friends for track experience and got the car adjusted for the first race... I also got my completely restored Ducati 996 Troy Bayliss replica back to track first time since rebuilt.

Green got a qualification to Gran Tourismo Pro Modified GT Gr. 2, ready to race ;).

Back then I purchased one set of BlownSix 18 wheels, they were supposed to be satin metal with black centres. Finally I got them painted;).

petri 07-24-2018 07:28 PM

I also got back my 964 3.6 RSR engine from complete service and modification, which is still missing new MAF kit and headers. Soon to be assembled ;).

We participated to Finnish National Championships weekend to Gran Tourismo GT2 starts and got promising data for becoming races: car is now solid and reliable, but driver is still in slow motion mode :D. SO the car and driver must be adjusted. First race with D-Zug 935 shifter, I do like it with 930 transmission. It is great!

Pit Scooter.

Especially front is too high, so we are changing shorter main springs, as the adjustment now is maximum low and still way too high...

Still flying too high, to say: suspension must be reworked way lower...

First trials with slick tyres as being a semi slicks driver so far: ERP / Fox suspension with uniballs works great.

Porsche Festival 2018 Finland for 70 years of Porsche:

To my eye, the white against the green really wakes it up and does something for it.
Based on that body, its not really looking to be subdued.

I like how you've tied the white TAG graphic into the lines on the hood by using the same color palette.

Your car looks great as usual.
Looks to be a good turnout at the event.
