Porsche Crest Blownsix FW IC 930 advice needed

I am in the process of installing a Full Width Intercooler from Blownsix (B6) and need some advice from those who have done this.

The AC Condenser under the right side of the wing needs to be relocated somewhere else due to the IC needing that space.

Has anyone relocated the condenser to another place in the engine area?

Also, I would like advice on the install and avoid traps/errors so please send info my way.

Serge,

Thanks for your info but it does not really help. I need pics of an installed Full Width IC in a 930 and pics of a relocated condenser.

You can toss the OEM condenser. You will need a full underbody condenser or a rear fender one like Griffith sells. Also new hoses if yours are original. Are you sure the B^ will clear the AC comp?

911rudy and mdurbahn,

I'm not sure about the clearence of the AC comp, matter of fact, I'm not sure about much of this since I don't have the IC yet so I have not test fit it.

Anybody have pics of what the relocation would look like?

One of my friends has just bought a US 930 here in France (the car is from California, made in 1987, slant nose)....and....I found what you're looking for.......the IC is located inside the rear left fender...as follow.....

And there's a blower inside the engine case, connected to the big pipe saw in the pics before.....

I hope this time....that will help you.......

Thanks for your help on this gentlemen.

So the answer is to get rid of the under wing condenser, buy a new under-belly or fender condenser.

Where can I buy these condensers? I was told there is a fender condenser from Griffith but where might I find the under-belly condenser? Ideas?

Here is the fender mount unit I had installed last summer (works great even in TX) . . . this was added in addition to the tail condenser - I doubt it would be enough on its own:

And an earlier year/model version:

That underbelly deal used to come from a company called Performance Aire. However, when I checked the link that I had for them, the AC section is no longer there. You might need to call them:

Here is another good link for Porsche related AC:

Yea I got the underbelly one from Performance Aire, he only had a few left though when I talked with him a few months back. If you search around there are some other posts in the archives about fender mount condensers too. I think there are quite a few options, griffiths, newer oem porsche, custom, etc.

Did you have much success with the underbelly? Is it the only condenser you have?
