Project 930 Finally completed

Well after 1 year and 1 month my 930 is where I imaged it would be from day one. I searched and searched for the best one I could find and I feel I did very well with this 86 Slate Blue metallic.

The first thing on the list were the 3.6L wheels because when I first laid eyes on them in 94 I said, if I ever get a Porsche these are the wheel I must have. My plans from the beginning was to update it to the 964 look, some say why didn't you just go after the 964? I didn't want to deal with any issues that might come from the extra options like air bags/ABS and so on.

I pulled all the stock exhaust/heat exchangers and air pump and added GSF headers with Fabspeed exhaust, Fabspeed air intake, 964 mirrors, H4 headlights with Hid's a set of custom color matched sport seats.

One issue I did run in to was trying to match the factory color for the bumper it took over a month to get it very close, this is the factory paint and we are talking about 22 years so I'm pretty happy with it.

I want to thank Better Bodies for their kit and all the help they gave me.

This is what I started with...

Wow... I love that front bumper. Looks sick!!! Is that an upgraded turbo or just a new drip tank?

Looks fantastic! I like the rear bumper- nice and clean. That downward-facing tail pipe is pretty cool too- haven't seen that before...do you think it will shoot flames? What brand of seats are those- recaros? Great job- I have an '86 and now you've got me thinking.....

looks great, are you going to leave the shark fins off? Brave decision if you do.

I always thought the car looked better without the fins. Do people rarely take them off?

BMAN, what part of MD do you live in? I'm in the DC Metro area myself. I like the Porsche emblem on the fender and the side mirrors. Definitely going to do the mirrors when I get a 930.

Yeah- I like the look of the car without the shark fins- but I'd definitely replace them with some clear bra or something before the rock chips ruin that nice paint.

Hey Bman,
That is an amazing transformation.
Where did you get the mirrors from? Any issues with the paint under the old mirrors?

Bman,

You have been diligent in working on this car since it arrived, looks to me like it's paid off!!

Can't wait to see it again at one of the local gatherings... so what next?

Paul
