15" tires...

I know they're a dying breed, but does anybody have a line on 15's...315 and 275...

Pirelli still makes a 345/35-15 @ $400 a pop. Nothing else I know of here in the states.

What about the Michelin Vintage Racing from Coker? Last time I checked they still made the 285's & 335's.

The Coker tires I have seen are too tall which looks goofy on the old cars. Unfortunately you need tires less than 25" tall to keep the sidewall hieght below 5".
I really wish Yoko would bring back the 255s and 345s. That look is SOOOOOO awsome on the old widebody cars.
I have looked and looked for the right sizes in the most unusual places with no luck. The closest I can come are slicks that must have the tread cut. That's pretty impractical for the street.

I got them at Coker. They've really butchered their site. The tires use to be listed. You should call them. They were in the $400+ ea. I run 215/55/50 on 8's and 295/40/15 on 11's. They also make a 335/35/15.

295/40-15 ? 335/35-15 ?
WOW, I've never seen those on the site! That is fantastic! Are they true to measurement?

I can measure my 295's if you tell me what you want to know.

Last time I called them the salesman had to tell me how to find them on the site. When I bought these their site was very easy to navigate, who gets it.
They were listed under: Michelin Vintage Racing tires.
The 295/40/15 size is 26/61 R15 TB Racing radial X
The 215/50/15 size is 18/60 R15 " "

Bias Ply? Are you kidding me? That is the wrong application. Any handling problems?

Like I said, they really butchered their site.
The tires handle great in the dry, o.k. in light rain, and I was getting some front hydroplaning in very heavy rain. They are about the same weight as a Hoosier, a lot lighter than the Yokos. I'm assuming the high price is due to the weak dollar, I paid about $350 ea. a few years back.
I have a set of 255 & 315/17's as a back up set. They don't right to me, but at $500 p/tire I'll deal with it.

I think Yoko still does a small yearly run of their 285/40/15's, but finding out when is another story.

Here is a shot of the 295/15's on 11x15's compared to the Goodyear 315/35/17's on 11x17's.

Mickey Thompson has wide radials. You just have to convert to a comparable metric size.

That is a great photo - thanks! It really tells the tale.
It is quite unfortunate that the prices are so high on a wear item.
I have thought pretty seriously about going to 17's due to the low prices when compared to all others of the appropriate width, 315-345mm.

Can you e-mail me some infor on the speedlines? I am looking for 9.5 & 12 x 17 or 18.

I ran 285/345 combo on my car for a while. Those 285s were a bear to steer and rubbed a bit so I went with 255s.

A couple years ago, the guy who lives one street over from me, with an'84 Turbo had three complete sets of the uber wide 15" BBS RS style wheels! He just couldn't afford the tires any more...that is, when he could find them. He ended up selling them on fleabay.

I raced this car 1 season and preferred to go back to a 3.6 NA, so this is now my beach cruiser...
