Yup, turbine color on a turbo car is a decent way to determine rough mixture. Black sooty rich, white/tan good afr, gray = lean. Rusty Orange means Torco additive in the tank

I'd do a little tuneup on that sooty car there, or stop idling for 20 minutes at a time (just kidding)

WOW Bill, those blades are really clean, it shows that you finally went to the track with plenty of WOT. That's what it takes to have fun and keep our engines clean.

I think there's a lot of truth there in your post. I mean friends would follow me and they said that when I was under full throttle it would blow out a ton of stuff. Since that DE, now they said it's just a puff. Probably that track day blew out YEARS of built up crap from a plugged CAT, etc. The car feels REALLY good.

Now you know the recipe to keep it clean = often WOT; next step will be flames from the exhaust and lots of poping in decel... :-) Be safe.

I remember years ago at the Jaguar main dealer, the cure for the 5.3litre V12 engine running a little rough was WOT at idle...
Worked though. I preferred 1st gear myself.
