how heavy is your 965 turbo clutch pedal

recently my 1st gear started to getdifficult to engage, it turned out the bracket which holds the pedals cracked around where the hydraulic clutch piston is mounted.
is this a common fault on the 964 and turbo models, why did it crack and is this an early sign indicating the clutch maybe on its way out
the car drives and pulls fine, no clutch slip.
the clutch pedal is not soft and not to hard somewhere in between
