i am putting together a 1979 Porsche 930 turbo and the pistons have a flat top. usually these kind of pistons have an arrow for this side toward front, these do no have that arrow. how do i determine the front of the piston?

There is a small squiggle line on the top of the piston and one side that points towards the flywheel

while your at it. When installing the piston rings, make sure the openings of the rings arent facing down (you will be alternating in three different directions). this will help prevent smoking on start up. Though Porsche's are allowed to smoke on start up, even the new ones (which they do)
