Boost measurement question
I am fitting a mechanical boost gauge in place of clock.
The 12mm vacuum hose from the engine to the brake booster looks like it would have vacuum and boost all the way up to the booster. If this is so, a tee connection in this hose close to the booster looks like a convenient place for the boost gauge connection. This would avoid the need to run a separate small hose through the car from the manifold to the gauge. Any problems with this approach? Bill |
You can buy the special non return valve that fits in the brake booster. It has an additional small port for your gauge. Saves hacking the car.
IA and NHS do them. |
Kits are available for the brake booster T.
I personally don't like cutting into the brake system. My gage has a braided stainless line running through the tunnel back to the BOV housing. No cutting of any sort, just plastic zip ties. |

I totally agree on this one. I ran a separate line right from the bottom of my I/C, thru the center tunnel, right up to the back of the guage. |
