Good price....I've seen them go for over 600 for a brand new set or the originals.

I bought them, from the little research I have done it seemed like a good price and I don't think they will lose any value in the future.

Does anyone know if this a complete set or if there are supplemental volumes for wiring schematics and such?

Now maybe I can figure out if the bolt welded to the washer on my front spindle is supposed to be that way or if I am in for heartache come brake time...

nice buy
those two should have everything, soup to nuts, or in your case bolts.
(never heard of a bolt welded to a spindle washer)
I have the one-volume manual for the 76-77 turbo carrera, and it's also very complete and inclusive. Also, I use the factory four-volume set as supplemental on a lot of the non-specific mechanical stuff.

I think for a "complete" set, you also need the manuals for the Carrera...like another five volumes. But this should cover most of what you need to know.

Nice! I don't think you can go wrong if you want/need them - Pelican don't even list the 930 manuals, they've probably been rocking horse poop (NLA) for so long.

Now think about the Technical Specifications booklets, they're pretty cheap (and still available). I think they're printed later than the manuals (for example, the spec booklet for 78-81 SC/930 states 98 RON gas for the 930/60 motor, 96 RON for the others, factory manual gives 91-96 RON for all, IIRC).

All the 911 factory manuals are supplements to the early (65-71) manual set, WKD-480-520-OEM. For a mid-70's car, there is also the supplemental 72-83 manual set, WKD-481-021-OEM.

Generally speaking, if it's the same as the info/procedure in the early manual, the 72-83 manual doesn't have it, because the workshop it was assumed, will have both...

For a turbo, you also need the 930 set - which does include wiring diagrams etc., as these are specific to the 930, in the same way that the 930 manual set covers the 930 4-speed gearbox, brakes/suspension and the CIS/vacuum diagrams/intake/timing/exhaust stuff that's specific to the turbo cars.

IIRC, the early manual sets (only two volumes, but they're huge) cover things like body panel fitting etc which aren't covered in the later sets - because the procedure didn't change...

Yep, the 930 manual only covers things that are different than the 911. Also as stated the later manuals only cover what's not in the earlier ones either.

So, you need all the 911 manuals up to the year of your car and the 930 manuals up to the year of your car.

Speaking of the 4 volume 911 manual set, there's a set in the classifieds for $300 that the guy is about to give up on and put on Ebay:

FS - Porsche Workshop Manuals Vol I-IV

Again, no affiliation....

There is also the complete set of 930 manuals available on 'that download site' that we can not talk about here.

Too bad it would be a copyright infringement to download these. It would be very handy to have the complete set of manuals on a memory stick.

Fed-Ex dropped them off yesterday, they are in perfect shape. Volume I covers the engine trans and chassis and Volume II is wiring and body. This should be all I need although having a complete set would be cool.
