hey guys, one more thing i forgot to put in my first post.
i wanted to remind justin and gabe to please send me the pics from the drendel collection !!

And gabe i absolutely can't wait to see your car in the summer!! we definatly have to go on a drive with it. i wish i could say my car would be efi by then, but probably not, well it will be an excuse to come back to nc when its done, i'm gonna do my best to live up to your build,

and justin, we need to get together in the spring and go on a drive and hopefully this time i wont have any more unexpected family stuff to get in the way, i would love to see your 934 build up, i will probably model the body work on my car something between a 934 and 934 rsr type, but probably a modern wing w/ intakes! haha

and miguel, send me a PM and i'll send you my number, and let me know if i can be any help with your new home! i'll be glad to lend any advice i can! or refer you to anyone that might be able to help

ok guys well i guess that about covers it, and don't forget to drop me an email so we can keep in touch and get another trip together soon!!

Here are some of mine...

This is the door into the "vault" from the basement of the "family" house.
The vault is 18" of reinforced concrete along the sides and bottom. There is a lift to take the cars out of the basement...

Matt is not going to restore this car. He wants to keep it as original as possible.

This car was restored to absolute perfection. The paint was very good, then engine was perfectly detailed. Wow...

His 959 only has 843 miles or something like that. It still smelled very new on the inside.

This is the only Porsche factory GT1 in private hands. There is a pretty good story about how Matt paid for this car.

This is the car used in the "Bad Boyz" movie.

Here are some picts from the airport hanger.

The cobra was not a real one. The body was fiberglass.

There were of course some airplanes in the hanger! Plus a big boat and a big RV which didn't make the picture.

WOW, had hell of a great time. I wish my car had been finished to make the trip. Maybe next time.

I'm glad We at Zuffenhaus/Eurowerks were able to be a meeting place for this drive. Thank You Justin for taking the time to make this all work. A big thanks to Matt and Bryan for opening up the personal private collection and allowing complete strangers to be on the grounds.

Here are a few images of the day.

I'm truly glad that everyone enjoyed themselves this weekend. Getting a chance to meet some of the great people behind the screen names and was worth organizing this in and of itself. Special thanks to Aaron, Duke for letting us meet at Zuff on a cold Sat morning, and Matt Drendel and his right hand man Bryan not only for the invitation to see history, but their gracious hospitality. Also, i have to give a huge high five to Gabriel and his wife for making it all the way from TX to be there. The weather could not have been better for the drive on Sunday, making for a great weekend all in all.
Jeff, sorry to hear about your clutch fiasco.. you were not alone. After spending weeks tuning the 930/4 until she was running about as well as i could get her, the front and rear shift coupler/ bushing gave up the ghost with perfect timing on Friday night!!! What do they say about the best laid plans? At least the Carrera had heat.
Anyhow, Some pix
Tom (Racemor)'s sweet 911E... would love to have had that in the mountains.

Brad's now famous flaming 930...great meeting you bro.

My girl and her favorite car

Happy pelicans

The biznass end of 1500HP... any questions?

How sweet a sight is that

At least Paul represented us Pelicans in the turbo dept with his beautiful GP white 30(great to meet you)

Gabriel pointing to the real factory 935 part of the reproduction on his car (are you sure you aren't Quentin Tarentino's long lost brother?) in the Drendel 'Unobtanium' dept (thanks for showing us Bryan). Everywhere you looked, a piece of history. 19x15 917 centerlocks, 917 calipers and disks in a corner, GT1 custom headers and cams, Gt2 magnesium tranny and evo engine in a corner, 959 racing wheels.....and the list goes on and on.

I find it incredible that nestled in the heart of the 962 lies basically the same engine that brought all of us pelicans to see this incredible collection

Shot from the hanger

Can you ever get tired of looking at a rear end like that?

The few, the proud, the Pelicans et al representing at the end of the Dragon run. L to R, Jeff Cunningham (jcunning) Gabriel Wohl (Reaper930), wife Erin, Miguel Antonetti (Miguel Antonett) and wife Victoria, me and squeeze Bili. Miguel, it was great to meet you and Victoria... you have some mad driving skilz and glad that you and the 930 are making the move to NC.

Seeing as that most of the Pelican 930 contingent was MIA due to winterization, mechanical (me, Sandman, AngMO) and other factors, and this event was so much fun, i think a spring/ summer run may be in order. Gabriel, was great talking all weekend about the details of your project. BTW, I was truly amazed that you were able to wrestle that behmoth bimmer 550 through the twisties like you did. If the Blackbird come east for 'finishing touches' like you alluded too, we will definately make another run happen) That to all for making it a great weekend! Cheers

Wow guys - awe strickening pics. I'd have had to wear Depends there. INsanery. All the while wiping Ftard drool from me jaw and mumbling nonsensically to mesself like JoJo the Idiot Circus Boy.

Tx for the pics - also great to put faces / names with the screen names (grrrr screen names 8-)!).

Now Justin, should you be nuticular enough to compose an Encore Event - I just may be stoooopeeed enough to consider such. Dunno, would be a bit silly running down from CT and back but hey I've been meaning to add Der Dragon to me resume, I'd kill to see you 934, I'd kill 2x to see Gabe's 935, and - damn, it'd just be cool as hell to meet youses, hang, DRIVE, and have a beer or 5 (after!) with. Hmmm.

Lead-time is good, if possible. Soon as you know, please post up. Other than a wedding in Turks & Caicos (er not mine) me dance card is empty. Prob is so is me wallet - d'oh 8-(. Heh heh.

More pics / stories!

Great pictures, thanks for posting!

My weekend was crammed tight. As irony would have it I had to drive to Knoxville (again) Sunday night for a Monday morning meeting. Missed you all by one day.

A few of you coudn't make the trip with the P-car and had to drive "lesser" vehicles. Imagine being on those great roads every week stuck driving a pick-up truck! That's what I get!

Hey Brian, a pick up truck with Fuch wheels will do it... :-)

Those roads and scenery are fantastic with any vehicle. We missed you, get ready for the spring.

Nice car, Herbert. I think I've seen it at VIR. I don't race...just a lowly spectator!
