Today is my anniversary - celebrating 1 year with my 930
the love affair is still strong and i do not find myself lusting after any other car... i managed to put about 5k on her, which is more mileage than she saw in the previous 5 years. that's pretty good considering i only drive on weekends.
like most of us i've spent some $$ fixing and improving things: Tial wastegate rarlyl8 muffler and WG dump (friendly reminder Brian, I'm still waiting on the ssi system) new clutch trans refresh (1st 2nd 3rd gear synchros, dogs, and sliders) pedal cluster rebuilt replaced rear wheel bearings (included parking brake refresh) new windshield & seal replaced passenger side 1/4 window seal (drivers side is "on deck") installed all the parts from P.O. that came with the car (clutch cable, helper spring, new axles, oil fed tensioners, cap, rotor, sparkies, magnacores) innovate lc-1 vdo voltmeter did i mention that i love this car. happy anniversary! ![]()

Ah, yes! It seems like just yesterday that I was sleeping on the sofa after I told wifey that I was only going to look at the 930! Looking didn't last long and I soon found myself driving it home! Damn cars cast a spell that can't be described! Oh well, better to ask forgivness and do as I please! BTW, that was four years ago. Only spent a couple of nights on the sofa...
...oh yeah, then there was this one time I rebuilt the engine...yeah that's another thread!

Congrats! take her out and spank her now!
Going on 3'rd yr for me, I usually reward her with a clay bar treatment ![]() It's 22 yrs later for one to realize how advanced these cars were back in the 70's/80's

+1000 on Minerva being an awesome color jwasbury - your car looks postitively electrified. I love it. Must be real entrancing in person I bet.
Busy beaver you've been with it there - impressive hit-list of 'thangs' you sorted already. Nice! Happy anniversary! My 1-year was 2 weeks ago (funny I ended up with your same exhaust - great mindz). I celebrated by taking her off insurance and storing her for a winter's slumber 8-(. *BUT* I did manage many blissful crisp fall vehicular bonghit commutes prior and she went out on a tremendous note. Funny, the intermittent bog'd 4th gear misfire I was getting healed itself for it's last month of enjoyment here. Go figure. She's under a taught stretched soft red cover for now, sniffle. HA! Too funny juice. Man, gotta say I'm both flattered and impressed anyone took note? Thanks for noticing, for the mention, and to your thoughts on my thoughts about thoughts. "Arabesque" prose... "nutty cookster" - more HA! True, it does seem I tend to compose rather uniquely - I'm known in the Audi circles for such and further shenanigans and try to tone it down for 'here' heh heh. Good you appreciate it 8-). I try to keep up with Sandman... yeah that's it blame him. Jah, it's true... life's been kicking me arse lately and taking no prisoners. 20% layoff 7/31 here and another 20% last week. Survived but it's FUGLY and I'm out hunting. Then it's year-end here which is crazy. Oh and ALL of my anniversary (10yr. and cruised to Bermuda!), my wife's bday, and my 3 kids' bdays AND all the holidaze occur mid-Oct. to 12/31 so I'm f'n flat out. SUX! Sorry you asked yet??? I'd love to head down and join youses, but unfort. reality for me is no way Jose... or hose B for that matter. Reality = biatch Last year I kept it insured and used it on nice clear daze, but this year she's stored for various reasons - ah well - life comes at you fast... hold on! Oy... ANYwho... hope yer enjoying the bejeezus out of your 934 - one of my faves here there anywhere ayup! I'll try to keep on here more, I've not been here or Renn for quite a few months unfort. Oh and sorry for the threadjack jwasbury! 8-)

jwasbury...any more pics of the car? Great colour (Cdn with a u) I am one year in to my 930 as well...it is completely apart awaiting mods. I blame this forum for pushing me down the slippery slope:
![]() krasuskyp...second juicersr, always good humour(again Cdn spelling) in your posts. Juicersr...I bought my 930 out of Wilmington, we have rented a house in Wrightsville the last 6 years. The run you are planning sounds absolutely epic!

Just reviving this thread one-year on...Happy Anniversary!

Congrats Jacob!
We must have gotten "married" around the same time last year....me to my 87' 911 Turbo. Like you, I couldn't leave it alone.... K27HFS upgrade, new zimmermanns on the corners...and the latest undertaking....complete engine rebuild from 3.3 to 3.4 with 964 cams, port work..etc. Keep up the great work!

It's been 15 months for me with my 87 930 and I still get shivers just looking at it. We are truely lucky guys because we have these cars.
I have done the Wevo shifter, RarlyL8 muffler and 930S wheel, RarlyL8 headers with heat are next and then thats it, except for the bigger turbo when needed. Its real tough not to smile after a drive in it, mines Radar Red and the only thing that would make it nicer would be that Minerva Blue, I did change the front badge and for the 50 bucks it was worth it, my old one looked good till I got the new one. |

Jacob - I am sending out an new set of gaskets for your SSIs today.
This is the 10 year anniversary of the transormation of my car, from an olive green SC to a 930 powered guards red GT2 looking widebody. A lot of work and a lot of reward. Love the turbo.

3rd anniversary bump
Happy anniversary!
Since last year the old girl got her newly rebuilt engine (now just over 3k miles), a complete suspension refresh, and a pair of Recaro Sportster CS seats. We attended our 2nd turbo-palooza event and ran the full course at VIR. The car performed flawlessly. There is definitely no substitute for the 930. ![]()
