Custom 930 resurfaces on ebay
Seen this car featured by a member back when it was tan colored. Repainted green now. Truely a unique car, hope it sticks around.
|
I can see why the "Leaf Green" is no longer available. :D
If they knew all along that they were going to sell the car, why put it up for sale with a color some would find as deal breaker? My $0.02, of course. |

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1226162114.jpg Plus, i kinda like 'leaf green' Has a vintage look to it. Sinister, all black would have been the coolest tho. Still waiting for someone to do an all black 934 replica. If i ever get tired of 'India Red' (absolutely perfect color BTW) i may do a 'wrap' in black. |
Didn't they want $100,000 before paint job?

Black would be very sinister, I agree. I wish they left the flare additions like they come from the factory with the exposed fasteners and molding between the extensions and body flare. I know picky, picky, picky........... :D |

That car is S E X...totally. |

Please tell me you're going to keep the "Pin Up" girl on the fender? SmileWavy Love your car man.

I'm sorry but I don't see an $80K car. Yes a lot of money was spent on it but you don't get that back.
I know you did not ask for a critique but things stand out. The engine is a big question mark. A stock intercooler and CIS settings and components will not support 500CHP so the new owner has some work to do there. The 'cooler under Duck will likely have to go which changes the entire look of the car. Interesting car but I actually like the pink pig better as a nostalgia piece. I hope they prove me wrong and get their price. |
That's a lot of car for the money. Having built a few myself, it would cost more than that to build. Just my $.02.
|
Im just not feeling the car. It's not a 934, just parts and pieces of one. I can see the poor paint job on my iPhone at the VIN sticker on the door jamb. The engine looks dirty/unkept and the HP rating is no big deal.
To me it looks like someone took ragged out car and threw some parts and pieces on it. Just my .02 |

I have been from one end of ebay to the other and I am not 'feeling' much of what is out there. Next year I think we see some nice, clean cars on ebay. |
Ebay has had a few deals lately.
I think that was a decent price considering there are people on craigslist advertising 930's with blown motor's for 20k. |

I liked it better with the old "917 pink pig" livery. That car was one of my favorites around. Still a good car, just a damn shame.
|
I agree to liking the old livery better with no disrespect to the current owner, it's all good.
I recall a write-up on the car which described the original builder using his skills to create the car the way he thought it should be. It was a topic for some time and resurfaced now and then. Always a focal point. |

He was a machinist so he built his own centerlock hubs and axles in order to use the wheels which are on the car to give 934 track dimensions, did a number of other things as well. I don't think there are many 930s in the same color either.
