Bosch H4 fits bad

Hi just purchased new Bosch H4 headligts for my -77 930. Is there a left and a right or are both the same? My left light seems to not fit so good. Any one had any experience with this? Please post close up pictures of your headligts (gap between lamp and fender)

Thanks
Kristian

They should fit flush, I put H4 on my 77 and they fit nice. You have to put the top of ring in first then push in the bottom and replace screw. I believe they are the same left and right.

The right one fits just fine. But when I have fitted the left one the black ring sticks out about 3-4 mm outside the fender. It does not look like that on the right side.

If it didn't take you at least 20 minutes of cussing and pushing, it's probably not seated correctly behind the tongue on the top of the fender ring..

Need to fix that, some folks have had them pop out and smash.

A parts guy talked me out of the fender sealing gaskets I was gonna replace on general principle when switching out headlights, saying "they're a swine to get back on with old ones, let alone new ones that haven't been compressed on the car for ever. And the old gaskets don't tend to rot anyway".

He was right.
