You can weld on gussets at the ends to give strength to them.
Use anti-seize on the long bolt that threads into the ends and they probably won't get stuck in the threads and bend the cross bar when trying to loosen them again.
It's easy to straighten if they do bend.

The older ones don't have threads in them and you have to use a nut on the bottom. Those don't bend because of that but on some cars you have to remove alot of stuff like AC compressors, turbo intake and charge pipes, and upper heater hoses to get a wrench under there to hold the nut while turning the bolt on top.

I used a piece of 3/8" piece of steel going back about two inches and full height. Welded all the way around.

No problems since.

Something else to do if your working on the engine mount is to drill a hole in the center section (right side) that allows you to get that one nut off with a socket instead of a wrench from above. A hole big enough to allow a 3/8" extension to go through with a socket placed from above works great. Sorry. No pics. I'm on the iPhone

Check the entire mount for cracks as well. I had one in the center section.

Looks like over kill but does dress it up some.

Any welding shop can beef it up for minimal cost.

I have my engine out right now and my rear cross engine bracket looks fine.
Just wondering if I should be a little pro active and reinforce it now…

What does the brain trust say?

Yes. Mine looks similar to MyTurbo3.6's.
