Mark,

Not sure if this is exactly what you need, as I am not an expert on the matter, but I did find the following. Hope it helps.

Is it safe to assume that most aftermarket slant fenders were fiberglass?
Who, besides Porsche, manufactured metal slant fenders?

I wonder why most of the slants look like the front wheel/tire combo is too small for the fender well opening...

Is it geometry or optical?

Great looking cars!

It is not uncommon to have to run 1 size smaller sidewall profile on the front tires, especially if the car is lowered. This contributes to the "too small" look.

Anybody have any info on the headlight, only flip up 7/8 of the way.
There has to be a way to adjust this out.

If its only one light you have to adjust the upper set screw, I had the same issue just mine would go down too far. In my post below I adjusted the lower set screw

Slantnose, Slant nose,Slope, M505 factory 930S documents, registry, ultimate,flachbau

Now if its both, check the stops on the center bar #2 below

Since its both you may want to check that nothing is jamming the operating shaft. Unfortunately mine is missing the cover so its real easy for the carpet or something else to get in there.

If anyone has one lying around, I'm a lookin' #11

I suppose you have to go thru the inner fenderwell to get to the individual stops?

Yes. Remove the front splash guards and the mechanism will be exposed.

Thanx
all my bumpers seem intact and functional.
Tried adjusting the linkage, minimal improvement.
I'm gonna try adjusting the bumpers under the buckets
next.

My stops on the center bar might be the issue, can anybody show a pic of what they should look like?

I just looked at mine and the stops seem to prevent lateral motion of the tube. Not the up down rotating motion. My apologies. See picture below of turnbuckle. It seems the adjustment is there because in looking at how the system operates that is the only thing that has an equal effect on both buckets. If you look closely you can see where mine is scuffed up from someone adjusting it. Now the question is in or out?????

Thank you. I love it dearly. Can't stop looking at it. Had my local air cooled specialist look at it last week while recharging the A/C, and he confirmed what I already knew: it's a gem of a car, that has been loved all it's life. He also said that this is one of the best built Slants he has ever seen.

Great looking slant JM, is it all steel?
What aftermarket manufacturer produced steel slant fenders? I've seen them for sale from time to time but didn't know if they were NOS/OEM or aftermarket.
