Repair Manuals/Books?

I have the Bentley Repair manual for my 86 Targa. Since Bentley doesn't publish one for the 87 Turbo, what other books are you using for Repair and Service info?

TIA

I've been in the same spot, I havent found anything 930 specific. The Porsche small spec book is always good for torque specs and other values. Bosch makes a generic C.I.S. book for fuel system troubleshooting.

But.....( I couldnt resist) Most technical stuff can be found by searching and posting on Pelican.

Stephanie, welcome.
I see it didn't take you long to come over to the dark side.
Beware, we are all hopelessly addicted to the boost pipe over here. By mid-summer I predict that you won't be satisfied with your car in stock form and you'll be looking to score more performance.
You've come to the right place. There are many here that will help you spend your life savings on speed thrills

Thank Paul,

I am eager to get into the car and see all the differences between the targa and turbo. I just want to make sure when I get in there I know how to put things back and at their correct torques. As for life savings being spent, we have almost started to give the Porsches their own line in the monthly budget. Addiction just continues to grow.

Do a search here. There was someone who was helping others with copies on cd's or such.

Finding a bound copy I'd getting harder to do and when they are to be had they can go for several hundred.

Stephanie,
I have been in the in-between-car-manuals phase myself. However, for the engine of your car, the "Porsche Carrera 964 - Technical Data Without Guesswork" is a pretty good reference because the 1991-1992 Turbo had almost the same engine as your 1987 Turbo. The exception is the EZ69 ignition system and some other minor engine modifications that will be discussed in the book.

Welcome to the club,
Mark

Your best bet and the cheapest also is to just download the factory
manual and the parts catalogue right off the net. It's all there for the looking,
Welcome to the world of Turbo...........

I used to heist them from the dealership I was working at and then return them after I had made copies. It took one good flood in my basement and now 911, 930, 964, and 993 are all destroyed along with all their suppliments and TSBs and so on...
