Go for it Paul, most eloquent of board members. All this 934 coverage got your hot and bothered?

Remeber though, once you commit to treading down the path of mod-dom my friend, you can never turn back. Bigger wheels, brakes and HP all will rise up and and beckon ye and your wallet forward like sirens to Odysseus.

Really though, the bodywork conversion is relatively straightforward, but it does involve cutting those beautiful turbo flares. How far are you going to take it?

Full documentation is, of course, mandatory.

Thanks for the support and encouragement Gabe / Justin. I've been offline most of the weakend as The Boy and me have been busy with bodywork. Things got FLARES!

We're not going 'too far' with it - just within my abilities and that of my 6yr. old. Use your imagination.

He liked my wing compared to the one above or the like - it's gonna be his car so it's his call 8-).

I'm too beat from sanding all day and going to bed - I'll get pics up soon I took a fair number yesterday. I think you'll be surprised!

Tomorrow - primer.

So far so good, well for this plebian's handz...

Paul, u tease. We've paid our entry fee, now show us some conversion porn. Just remember that with the 934 comes an obligation to drive as fast and loud as possible. U find yourself forgetting about trivialities such as family and food and thinking about how u are going to hit those apexes faster on the way to work...

Dood I know I'm sorry - I'm such a hoor. I've been _flat out_ trying to get it going and with work and kids' bday parties sprinkled in for good measure.

I hope to do you proud - it'll be *different* that's for certain. I hope to have pics up by Thurs. night once I get some wet sanding done and the wheels on. Brace yerselves...

Well you have inspired me to finish my own 934 RSR...on a scale that I can afford. I started this project 20 years ago. My folks sent it out for a Christmas surprise

Hot diggity DAYUM Cowtown... that is ***supremely impressive***!!!

NOICE!

I'd love to see more pics - that thing is astoundingly ubercool. Good for you.

Now...

...I *cannot* believe I just had to call you "Cowtown"... grrr... _SCREEN_NAMES_!!!

I plan to start a thread soon suggesting including our names in our sigs - I find our group pretty close and find it rather disconcertingly impersonal to refer to people by "Cowtown".

8-)!!!

Well me flares and spoiler are done and she's primed and deviated coated. Some more sanding than base coat clear coat tonight. I'm f'n whooped, this is a vast amount of work to try and get done in a short amount of time... but it's worth it. Been great experience with The Boy...

Alllllllllllllrightyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy thennnnn...

I finished the clear last night, then of course didn't wait long enough for it to dry before mounting the wheels and managed finger prints here & there - I rule.

Then this a.m. I was weighing it and was over the max weight, and I drilled through the door in 2 spots trying to drill out some mass. I SO rule.

Wellllllll, you've all been patient.

and

Are likely all going to massacre me.

Here's my creation with The Boy - race practice is tonight 6:00:

(all pics found here http://picasaweb.google.com/pkrasusky/930Pinewood#)

Yeahyeah I *know*... I am, in fact, a colossally ginormous galactic schmuckbag. Sorry - I can't help being me tho. And I never did embellish my project, just said I was building a 934 - which we did... er um uh... well, we 'tried'. This is sadly as close to building / having a 934 as I'll ever have, so I'm embracing it.

Hindsight would have me doing a few things differently, like running the rear of the front fenders further into the door. Ah well. And yeah I know... it looks rather like a Volvo P544 or '48 Dodge in some angles (stop laughing). Problem was, rules dictate use of provided axle locations which provided quite a long car. I couldn't make up for it in width as we are @ our max width allowed, so net result is the worlds first 930LWB.

All in all it came out pretty nifty (I think). Amazing what 1/2 a can of clear can accomplish 8-). Quite the fun father / son project, I *DID* ensure he did at least some of every step if you're wondering. And he'll have this to remember for a lifetime - I still have all mine and it's great to look back on them and remember my times spent with my dad, and now look at all of what he taught me (quite the accomplished hobbiest he was).

Thanks for playing my silly little game. One of you PM'd me and jokingly figured it was "my kid's Radio Flyer or something knowing you". BwHA! You guyz know me too well.

Heh... jah, I know - was sorta surprised at me lead balloon floatage really. The gamernutz here usually appreciate anything and everything madman Porsche related - I do - but... the silence 'twas deafening. Tx for not making me feel like a total dbag 8-).

The car came out pretty cool - looks much better in person than pics. Half a can of clearcoat will do that heh heh.

3mo. old eh? Kewl, good fer you. They aren't particularly interactive (fun) until like 7mos, then every second's funnier than the next. Tip someone shared with me when I had mine - spend as much time as you can w/ 'em now before they start hating yer gutz. It goes by so quick!

Anywho...
