DP's & Flatnose front tires
Just some info. I'm in the process of swapping out my 8&11x 15's w/215 fronts & 295's rears for 9 & 11 x 17's 3 pc. fuchs. The rears were fine w/315's. The fronts were a problem. I fit Goodyear eagle f1 gs-d3 255/40/17's which are 25" high. In my situation it interferes with the headlight bucket when the wheel is turned all the way. It would also interfere with the wheel turned most of the way under hard cornering.
I'm switching to an eagle f1 gs-d3 245/35/17 which is the same height as the 215/55/15, approx. 23.8" high. Goodyear is discontinuing this tire. The next choice would be a 235/40/17, approx. 24.4" high, but not sure if that would work.

Looks like the Michelin TB15's are good for approx. 5K miles. The fronts and rears have worn the same. At $2200.00 for a set, I'm not anxious to replace them.

The clearance problem could just be specific to the DP's. Any of the Flatnose crowd having the same problem?

Yep, same problem. I have 235/45 x 17 (8 in.) (24.8 in. high) on the front of my slant. They rub on the front wheel well splash panel on tight turns.

I have the same problem with 245x45x17 on my 1987 factory slant. I am considering 235x40x17 but haven't tried them yet.

I'm not sure if the 235/40 would clear in my case, so I figured I would start with the 245/35 which I know will work. Hopefully I'll have them mounted by the end of the week.
