964 turbo/ic mod worth it?

My 930 is at my friend's shop as I have a leak and the exhaust is being addressed. While we're in there, he suggested I could mod the turbo ducting and pop off valve to be similar to my 964t.

Apparently, there is a scrunched up pipe that takes a 90* turn from the turbo to the ic on the 930s, whereas the 964 is a straight shot from the turbo with less restriction. The factory pop off valve was going to be deleted and replaced with a bov and the intake reworked.

I already have the B&B headers/exhaust/ic along with the 3.4 and sc cams... Is it worth it to do this mod? He has done several of these and says teh power delivery is smoother.

If you are refering to removing the 930 recirc-valve/bov and replacing with the 964 style elbow and recirc valve I think there is still 90 degree bends there but the recirc-vavle is much more efficient IMHO (make sure you get an aftermarket one tho like Forge, etc. as apparently the plastic fantastic ones don't last).

You are basically just replacing the old large valve body with a small compact one less prone to leaks oh and you will probably need a long-neck ic to reach the throttle body too.

If he means just replacing the pipes I don't recall there being much difference between the 930 and 964 but I am sure (as others have) fab up much straighter more efficient pipes.

It looks like #16 in the 930 diagram gets replaced with #14 in the 964. Then the OEM pop off section gets replaced with a BOV.

The 965 inter cooler is a very good upgrade.
The only thing I will say is that the intercooler charge pipe (#19) is a bit pricey- close to 300 bills if I recall and you cant use the 930 unit.
I would say go for it.
